Workers are doing a number of activities at the Oak Ridge Graphite Reactor (ORG) support facilities to get it ready for demolition next year. They are removing sludge from the Graphite Reactor Filter House canal. When completed, that effort is expected to generate almost 130 steel drums, holding 55 gallons each, of sludge waste. Workers will place a concrete mixture in the duct between that facility and the Graphite Reactor that will separate airflow between the two facilities. UCOR, working with UT-Battelle, completed power rerouting last week. In addition, workers are performing mockups applying a decontamination solution inside the Filter House.
