A new partnership between American Nuclear Society (ANS) and UCOR will focus on building a pipeline of highly skilled workers for nuclear and environmental cleanup work on the Oak Ridge Reservation and other DOE sites around the nation.
ANS and UCOR have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance workforce capability via ANS’s professional development and credentialing offerings, including its Certified Nuclear Professional (CNP) program. “ANS will develop and deliver nationally recognized training and credential pathways to meet evolving industry standards and best practices,” said UCOR Chief Nuclear Officer Jay Mullis. “This collaboration strengthens UCOR’s unique role within Amentum’s nuclear center of excellence.”
UCOR will build on its existing workforce development program to identify research and mentorship opportunities to enrich the learning experiences of future nuclear workers while encouraging environmental cleanup careers with UCOR and the Department of Energy.
”This partnership with ANS underscores UCOR’s commitment to DOE’s workforce development efforts across the entire nuclear sector,” says UCOR Chief of Staff Jamie Standridge.
