ORNL will conduct a full-scale exercise tomorrow between 8 a.m. and noon. ORNL’s annual shelter-in-place exercise will take place as part of this exercise. The shelter-in-place exercise will begin with the sounding of the Standard Alert Tone, followed by instructions from the Laboratory Shift Superintendent (LSS) over the public address, radio, and desktop alert systems. The shelter-in-place portion of the exercise will last for approximately 15 minutes. An announcement will be made over the public address, radio, and desktop alert systems by the LSS when the shelter-in-place exercise has concluded.
UCOR D&D activities, RAD area activities, and High-Risk Activities are exempt from the shelter-in-place exercise. All other UCOR facilities and personnel are expected to participate. Employees should avoid the area of the remainder of the full-scale exercise and obey all direction from emergency responders and security personnel.
