All the great progress that UCOR has made on demolishing the Alpha-2 building at Y-12 was showcased today at a media day event. UCOR coordinated with CNS, NNSA, and DOE to highlight the vast amount of this former enrichment facility that has been brought down as demolition work continues. Before demolition began, Alpha-2 was an 80-ft-tall structure measuring 325,000 square feet and covering 2.5 acres.
UCOR’s cleanup work at Y-12 is transforming the site, making it safer, enabling modernization, and providing space for crucial new facilities.
