Before UCOR started phasing in Type 2 hard hats, UCOR’s Nuclear Operations team participated in an extensive evaluation of several Type 2 hard hats to ensure they met the expectations of workers who rely on them every day. Based on their testing and feedback, only the highest-quality industry products were recommended for company use. Those approved Type 2 hard hats are now available and teams will begin replacing the Type 1 hard hats previously offered.
Beyond enhanced impact protection, the approved Type 2 hard hats are designed with features like multiple attachment points, increased ventilation, and reduced weight.
The multiple integrated attachment points allow workers to securely add accessories such as face shields, hearing protection, and lighting without the need for modifications. The helmets are also available in a variety of colors to fit your wants and needs.
