Workers isolating ventilation systems at Isotope Row

At ORNL Building 3032, UCOR crews have completed the isolation of the first of six local ventilation systems in this section of Isotope Row. Isolating the ventilation systems involves removing duct work to prep the filter house for packaging and shipment. To ensure worker safety, workers installed passive fall protection systems and stairs for roof access. Radiological contamination was controlled by constructing custom containments on the roof to prevent contamination from spreading during duct removal. This work is essential in preparing Isotope Row facilities for demolition next year.
