UCOR Environmental Programs and Stewardship Manager Ashley Saunders participated on a panel at the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s “Infrastructure Summit” last week in Nashville. The panel focused on how Tennessee must increase its energy production to meet the demands of a growing population and support continued economic growth. Saunders shared how UCOR’s successful ETTP cleanup, regulatory partnerships, and Gov. Lee’s leadership has led to support for commercial nuclear investments by Kairos Power, Triso-X and Orano USA.
Saunders also discussed how the newly created Oak Ridge Corridor Development Corporation offers a unified, regional effort by the City of Oak Ridge and Anderson and Roane counties to capture additional nuclear-related investments in Tennessee.
