The new intranet, UCOR Hub, has what we refer to as public and private spaces. Public spaces are the ones that every employee can see (note: they are still internal and not open to the world at large). Private spaces are ones that can be restricted so that only certain people can see them.
For the launch next week, our goal was to move the relevant content from our existing intranet over to the new platform, creating public spaces for all that content. There were over 3,100 pages of content that had to be reviewed for relevancy. Then relevant content was transferred to the new site.
Now, for example, we have a human resources public space with information for everyone.
In our next phase, we will add private spaces for groups and teams who want to use them to work together collaboratively. The space owner controls who can see the content in private spaces. So, in addition to the public space, the Human Resources team could have a space where they can have a shared calendar, tasks and workflows, discussion spaces, blogs, create knowledgebase articles, and more.
