To the UCOR Workforce:
Our 2026 summer interns are now established in their work assignments. They’re wearing green lanyards for visibility, and I hope you’ll spot them and welcome them to Team UCOR.
We have 37 talented interns this summer working across the company representing 12 schools from seven states, including interns from teaming partner Strata-G. UCOR’s annual intern program is an Amentum Athlon Award-winning effort that gives these students an opportunity to test drive our mission work and culture. And we’ve also had significant success in many interns joining us in full-time employment—similar in many ways to our outstanding Chemical Operator and Industrial Hygienist Technology apprenticeship efforts with UCOR University Consortium partner Roane State Community College that have also won award recognition from the Tennessee Board of Regents.
If you see these interns, I encourage you to take time to introduce yourself, learn about their background, and share your experiences here at UCOR. It’s a highly competitive job market for talent in our region, so we want to make sure they learn about the many career opportunities with UCOR, our teaming partners, and globally with Amentum. We want them going back to their school talking positively to classmates about a rewarding, engaging summer intern experience.
Let’s maintain our focus on safety in June as we gear up for the July 4th holiday and our country’s 250th anniversary. Thanks for your work on our UCOR essential cleanup and operations missions.
Best Regards,
Jim Blankenhorn
UCOR President and Program Manager
