To the UCOR Workforce:
I am proud to congratulate the OREM/UCOR Reindustrialization Team on receiving the 2025 Secretary’s Honor Achievement Award of Excellence. Energy Secretary Chris Wright presented the Department of Energy’s highest non-monetary group honor this week in Washington, D.C., with our Oak Ridge team participating virtually from the OREM offices.
This award recognizes reindustrialization achievements made not only by the Oak Ridge team but also by the Portsmouth/Paducah Project Office. Together, these teams have accelerated land transfers, beneficial reuse, and economic redevelopment across our nation’s three historic uranium enrichment sites in Oak Ridge, Tennessee; Portsmouth, Ohio; and Paducah, Kentucky.
Our team’s hard work has built a legacy that will benefit our region for generations to come. I appreciate their leadership, collaborative spirit, and unwavering dedication to DOE’s mission. They have made all of us at UCOR immensely proud.
Best Regards,
Jim Blankenhorn
UCOR President and Program Manager
