UCOR’s ORNL Nuclear Operations recently conducted a two-week outage at Building 3608, which took part of the Process Waste Treatment System offline. The outage consisted of 23 corrective maintenance and service work orders. Some key maintenance activities included repair of the Dual Media Filter Vessels, discharge piping, filter press room maintenance, and the F-1003 mixer gearbox.
“Ensuring these items remain in good working service is a huge win for the continued operation of the plant,” ORNL Nuclear Operations Prioritization Manager Ryan Avenall said.
Coordination of these maintenance items required nine Work Packages, two Procedures, 23 support personnel, and 45 maintenance/operations team members.
“Our ability to collaborate with maintenance and plant operations is vital for our success, whether emergent activities or planned outages, these would not be successful if it wasn’t for our prioritization team,” ORNL Operations Manager Sarah Johnson said.
