UCOR deactivation crews have removed a glovebox from Building 3038, the former Isotope Development Laboratory at ORNL. This glovebox is the last large piece of legacy equipment cleared from the east end of the facility.
Crews are nearly finished with the equipment removal phase of deactivation, which included removing four of the five hot cells from the west end of the facility. The final remaining hot cell will be removed in the coming months.
The team is now beginning to focus on the next phase of deactivation—removing the contaminated ceiling and process lines in the overhead area.
