You’ve navigated the twists and turns of your initiative. You planned, gathered resources, and solved problems. Now, you’re at the exciting part: bringing everything together and delivering your outcome! This is where all your hard work pays off.
Finishing an initiative well means more than just doing the last step. It means making sure what you deliver truly meets your original goal and that everyone involved knows it’s done.
How to Deliver Your Awesome Outcome:
- Review your goal: Look back at what you wanted to achieve (from Article 1). Did you meet it? Is your organized shared drive actually easy to use? Is your team report improved as you hoped? This check ensures you delivered what you set out to do.
- Final checks: Give your work a quick review. Are there any loose ends? Is everything complete and accurate? This might mean proofreading, testing a new setup, or making sure all documents are saved in the right place.
- Share your success: Let relevant people know you’ve finished! This could be your manager, team members, or anyone who helped you. Share what you accomplished. This builds trust and shows your capability.
- Look back and learn: Take a few minutes to think about how it went. What worked well? What was challenging? What would you do differently next time? Learning from each initiative helps you get even better for the next one. This is a very important step often missed!
By following these steps, you don’t just finish a task; you successfully complete an initiative. You turn your initial idea into an awesome, finished product. This builds skills, boosts confidence, and helps our team and company grow!
“Try This!” Challenge:
For your current initiative, what’s one way you can make sure your final outcome truly matches your original goal? How will you share your success with others?
