Assistant Secretary for the DOE Office of Environmental Management (EM) Tim Walsh visited Oak Ridge this week, touring various project sites. At Y-12, he viewed the Biology Complex and Alpha-2 footprints as well as two facilities slated for eventual demolition—the Old Steam Plant and Beta-1. He also stopped by EMWMF. At ETTP, he visited the K-25 Interpretive Center and viewed completed cleanup sites as well as transferred property on which new nuclear facilities are being constructed.
Walsh also stopped at ORNL to view facilities slated for demolition and then visited TWPC. Yesterday evening, he attended a reception hosted by the East Tennessee Economic Council and cosponsored by UCOR.
