This month’s episode of Energycast focuses on OREM’s ambitious cleanup goals for 2026. One item is already complete with UCOR’s removal of the 325,000-square-foot Alpha-2 facility at the Y-12 National Security Complex. This project showcases the scale of the work underway and contributed to the 64 million pounds of waste removed in 2025.
This month, we also highlight new technology UCOR employees are implementing in the field that’s making work safer. They are using remote operated equipment and scanning technology to stay clear of hazards.
Finally, we offer viewers an exclusive tour inside the Manhattan Project-era Beta-4 facility, which UCOR is preparing for demolition, with employees who spent decades working in the building.
