UCOR was one of 50 nuclear industry supporters on display at the 3rd annual “Nuclear Day on the Hill” event this week at the State Capitol, with approximately 150 Oak Ridge Corridor representatives from industry, academia, and city and county government represented. State representatives, senators, and staff visited the event space to learn about the commercial nuclear renaissance and potential energy and supply-chain investments and career opportunities in Tennessee.
“We know Tennessee’s energy demand is growing, and reliable nuclear power is essential to attracting industry, creating high-paying jobs and supporting national security,” said UCOR Chief Nuclear Officer Jay Mullis. “DOE’s enduring missions at Oak Ridge and UCOR’s Cleanup Today for a Nuclear Tomorrow™ initiative have jump-started Gov. Lee’s push to have Tennessee recognized by the American Nuclear Society as the epicenter for advanced nuclear energy investments, and this event was about seeing those opportunities pushed statewide.”
