The Women’s Network recently met at Y-12 to hear from subject matter experts from UCOR’s Mental Wellbeing Center, Health Services, and wellness group Elevate. They were discussing women’s physical and mental health over lunch, attracting approximately 40 participants.
UCOR’s Mental Wellbeing Center noted interesting facts regarding women’s mental health, including that women are 31% more prone to experience burnout and are 2.2 times more likely to take on unpaid caregiver roles. Participants also learned that women are more likely to get help and have 40% higher levels of emotional resilience in long-term stress scenarios.
UCOR’s Health Services and Elevate provided their expertise with topics on UVA versus UVB Rays, effects of sun damage, preventative measures, SPF, and different characteristics of melanoma.
Meeting onsite is an intentional effort to make sure that our onsite coworkers have opportunities to be part of UCOR’s Connection networks.
The Women’s Network will be meeting at 9 a.m., Saturday, June 13, at the Oak Ridge Friendship Bell—next to the Oak Ridge Recreational Center—for Elevate’s Yoga Collective. Dress appropriately, wear sunscreen or a hat, bring a friend, and come to move and relax.
