UCOR’s Training Program has received the Safety Standout Award for innovations in safety from the EHS Daily Advisor.
The Innovations in Safety Award is given to safety training programs that go beyond the norm and demonstrate not only a commitment to compliance but also show an effort to adapt programs to the unique demands of the company’s workforce.
UCOR’s Training Program earned this award after developing the first mercury training program in Oak Ridge. The multifaceted program trains workers on measures to protect against mercury vapors during decontamination and deactivation at Y-12.
UCOR’s commitment to safety culture, sustainability efforts, and employee development is demonstrated by this award and other achievements. Our Training Program has been a significant part of UCOR being a Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Star Site, winning the VPP Star of Excellence Award.
