Community invited to UCOR Scarboro Workforce Workshop
Oak Ridge, Tenn., October 15, 2024 – Community members interested in exploring career opportunities on the Oak Ridge Reservation are invited to attend the UCOR Scarboro Workforce Workshop on Thursday, November 7.
The workshop will be held from 5-7p.m. in the Scarboro Community Center, located at 148 Carver Ave. in Oak Ridge. Attendees can learn about current job openings with UCOR and its teaming partners and gather information about pathways to future careers (community colleges, trade unions, etc.) as well as wrap-around services (training referrals, career counseling, etc.).
Representatives from UCOR’s human resources, workforce development, and small business offices will be available to review resumes and talk with participants. Representatives from UCOR teaming partners, multiple trades unions, and local community colleges will also be on hand. The American Job Center will provide information and assistance for wraparound services. In addition, the NAACP-Anderson County will provide information on its workforce development efforts and educational activities.
