UCOR presents free, virtual cybersecurity lunch and learn for small businesses
Oak Ridge, Tenn., May 4, 2020 – With so many people working from home (and having their kids at home spending time on the computer), the importance of strong cybersecurity is more important than ever. To support our small business partners as well as others who are teleworking, UCOR presents a free, virtual lunch and learn on May 14: Cybersecurity in the Time of COVID-19.
UCOR Cybersecurity Manager Steve Lape has designed the webinar to provide information to help small businesses and teleworkers to protect themselves from internal and external cyber threats. Participants will learn about Virtual Private Networks, two-factor authentication, password managers, and tips on how to improve home network security.
Lape is considered an industry leader in user awareness. He developed a cybersecurity training program that has been recognized by the Department of Energy and the Department of Homeland Security as “Best in
Class.” Lape has 20 years of cybersecurity and network experience and holds numerous industry certifications, including Certified Information Security Manager, Certified Information Systems Auditor, Certified Information Systems Security Professional, and Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert.
The 60-minute webinar will be presented from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2020, via Zoom. Registration is open now and is required for the event. UCOR, an Amentum-led partnership with Jacobs, is DOE’s leading environmental cleanup partner. Since August 2011, UCOR has worked to reduce environmental risk by cleaning up legacy facilities from the former Oak Ridge Gaseous Diffusion Plant, allowing DOE to repurpose the land and buildings for use as a multi-use industrial park, national park, and conservation area. The company is also cleaning up contaminated facilities that are no longer in use at ORNL and Y-12, reducing environmental risk and helping the DOE Office of Science and the National Nuclear Security Administration to continue their missions.
