OREM and UCOR kicked off the Tennessee Valley Corridor (TVC) National Summit as DOE OREM Manager Erik Olds and UCOR President & CEO Ken Rueter joined UCOR partners Roane State Community College, the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, and Oak Ridge Associated Universities along with Tennessee Economic & Community Development Commissioner Stuart McWhorter on a panel discussion about “Cleanup Today for a Nuclear Tomorrow.” The discussion focused on how UCOR’s cleanup successes and partnerships enabled land transfers and next-gen commercial nuclear enrichment, fuel, and reactor investments by Kairos Power, Triso-X, and Orano USA. The session was moderated by Oak Ridge Corridor Development Corporation President Mike Magill. TVC works across Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky, Virginia, and North Carolina to promote regional leadership in nuclear energy, science, and national defense issues.
