The UCOR summer interns will be hosting a supply drive benefiting the Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee (SHFB) Food for Kids (FFK) Program. Also known as the backpack program, the FFK Program is a collaboration between SHFB and hundreds of public schools within the Food Bank’s 18-county service area, including Anderson and Roane counties. The program provides easy-to-prepare meals for at-risk children to have on the weekends when they aren’t receiving school meals.
You can help restock FFK food items listed below. Please note donations cannot deviate from the listed items. They will be collecting food through Monday, July 28, at various work locations.
Items accepted for the FFK drive:
- Apple sauce
- Pudding cups
- Oatmeal packets
- Mixed fruit cups
- Easy mac bowls
- Peanut butter/cheese cracker packs
- Granola bars/Nutri-grain bars
- Shelf-stable single-serve milk boxes
