UCOR was proud to support the 26th Annual Lavender Festival held in historic Jackson Square this past Saturday. This year’s festival included over 150 artisan vendors, live music, informative presentations, children’s activities, and a food truck park. The festival also hosted ticketed special events like the Herb Lunch on Jackson Square with Featured Speaker Rita Venable, author of Butterflies of Tennessee (Maywood Publishing), and the Tour of Gardens in Royal Troon Neighborhood – showcasing the beauty of small space gardening.
Pat Mullen, UCOR EMS and P2/Waste Min Coordinator, served as one of the speakers at the “Learn at Lavender” series. Pat’s session on “Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle” helped attendees learn about UCOR’s efforts but also how they can implement some of our strategies at home. UCOR also sponsored the Lavender Recycles Program, which provided recycling stations throughout the festival tents making it easier to reduce waste.
