Technology Development team demonstrates vapor suppression tool

One of many technologies UCOR is evaluating is spraying FerroBlack® on walls inside facilities where mercury vapors are present.  Our Technology Development team recently demonstrated the technique. Marketing materials from supplier Redox Solutions explain that FerroBlack® is a green chemistry that eliminates mercury vapors upon contact with contaminated surfaces and debris. It oxidizes and incorporates the mercury into a mineral structure, which forms an insoluble and stable mercury sulfide compound. UCOR plans to deploy this solution into the field.
