Congratulations to Tyson Laing, Rick Breeden, Casey Hill, and Travis Willis for receiving a TeamsCount Award this week. The award recognized their outstanding commitment to safety and proactive problem-solving. During a critical operation involving the offloading of a 50,000 lb. concrete storage cask, the team identified a significant safety concern: the planned rigging equipment was insufficient due to variations in the cask’s anchor points.
Demonstrating exemplary judgment and a questioning attitude, the team immediately paused work, engaged with a Hoisting and Rigging Subject Matter Expert, and successfully acquired the correct equipment to ensure a safe and compliant lift. This swift and decisive action averted a potentially serious dropped-load incident, underscoring their dedication to our safety protocols.
