ORNL will conduct the annual Take Cover exercise on Wednesday, March 25. The Take Cover exercise will be initiated by ORNL LSS Public Address System announcement, WARS radio, the ORNL Mass Notification System, and the UCOR Mass Notification System.
UCOR personnel will be participating in the exercise and expected to demonstrate the proper actions to be taken during an actual Take Cover event. UCOR’s Emergency Services will have Controllers/Evaluators assigned to designated facilities to monitor the take cover activities and assist with questions or issues that may arise.
UCOR D&D and high-risk activities are exempt from this exercise. Emergency Services does suggest that exempted personnel review their facility EAP and become familiar with actions required during an actual Take Cover event. Contact Darrell Lawson at 865-617-2077 with questions or concerns.
