The Operational Excellence group has joined the Safety and Security Office (SSO). The group includes the following programmatic areas:
- Integrated Work Control & Planning
- Conduct of Operations & Facility Management
- Electrical Safety Program
- Construction Heavy Equipment Program
- Hazardous Energy Control
With this new addition to the SSO, Chris Thursby has been appointed as manager of the Operational Excellence group, reporting to Jimmy Hughes. Chris’s leadership is underpinned with his 19 years of nuclear operations and D&D experience at several DOE sites and facilities.
In addition, prior to joining DOE as a contractor, Chris worked for a major chemical manufacturing company in both operations and safety for 20 years.
