Sept. 1 marked the official implementation of CUI (Controlled Unclassified Information) requirements.
The Department of Energy (DOE) Order 471.7, Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) was published to establish the DOE CUI Program and mark the start date of the Department’s implementation of new CUI markings as required by 32 CFR § 2002.
DOE O 471.7 documents the Department’s policy for designating and handling information that qualifies as CUI.
An updated version of eDC/RO, for internal document reviews within a Classified Subject Area (CSA), is on the CICO home page. It was uploaded by the IT department after close of business on Sept. 1. There are new CUI marking tools built into the updated version.
