Near-record heat and lack of rain fueling drought conditions

We’re going to reach some near record high temperatures over the next few days with highs in the mid-80s through Saturday. The chance of rain for this week is low, fueling drought conditions and increasing wildfire dangers. We will get some relief from the heat by Sunday as high temperatures will only be in the mid-70s and lows in the 40s. The next significant chance for rainfall will not happen until late next week.
