UCOR Chief Nuclear Officer Jay Mullis was on the opening panel at the 19th annual RadWaste Summit Tuesday in Savannah, Ga. At the session, “A fresh future for nuclear energy: tackling waste issues,” industry leaders talked about ensuring the success of today’s commercial nuclear and next-gen nuclear investments.
Jay shared how the industry focus on occupational health & safety and waste management over the past 30 years has earned today’s improved public acceptance for nuclear energy. An April 2025 Gallup survey reported that U.S. support for commercial nuclear power has risen to 61%, up 6 points since 2023.
