Two “Cookouts with Ken” were hosted for the ORNL D&D and ORRL LSITs, USTAND and SMASH, after winning a recent safety challenge. These cookouts are a way for UCOR President and CEO Ken Rueter to recognize safety observation excellence.
All 14 LSITs were challenged to encourage the submission of safety observations, with teams that captured the most safety observations overall or per person earning a cookout to celebrate their success.
USTAND won the challenge by completing 645 safety observations overall during the challenge period (April-June). SMASH also won the challenge by completing almost five safety observations per person. SMASH is one of our smallest LSITs and still completed 235 safety observations during the challenge period.
