At our company, safety isn’t just a priority—it is a core value driven by the vigilance of our team members. This month, we are proud to highlight the outstanding individuals who used their “questioning attitude” to prevent accidents, correct hazards, and keep their coworkers safe.
BOBCATS – Tim Green: Tim proactively notified a coworker about their dangerously low tires, which led to the discovery of severe internal tire damage. By speaking up, he potentially prevented a catastrophic blowout on the road.
TRAILBLAZERS – Logan Hawks: Logan refused to proceed with a Geoprobe operation when faded grass markings left utility locations unclear. His refusal to compromise on safety prompted a utility re-mark, ensuring the excavation proceeded without incident.
GROUNDHOGS – Pamela Gray: Pamela spotted a wobbly, unanchored filing cabinet in a busy training area and immediately reported the hazard to get it secured, posting warning signs to protect her peers in the meantime.
SLOTHS – Sylvia Creswell: During a routine receipt, Sylvia noticed unexpected previous markings on a brand new waste tote. Her sharp attention to detail halted the process, ensuring strict compliance with waste inspection protocols.
Beryllium Bandits – Tommy Riggs (Grand Prize Winner): During preparation for aerial lift work near a cold and dark facility, Tommy paused the job to ask a critical question: “Do we have our 3090 permit?” While the building was inactive, Tommy’s questioning attitude prompted a double-check that revealed an active, energized communication line overhead. Thanks to Tommy’s intervention, the team secured the proper permits and avoided both a serious safety hazard and a procedural violation.
