UCOR’s interns attended a lunch and learn session today with guest speakers from community partner East Tennessee Economic Council (ETEC). ETEC’s Projects and Events Manager Hailey Lewis spoke about the group’s mission to harness East Tennessee’s federal resources to strengthen national science, security, energy, education, and environmental missions by fostering regional economic growth through strategic partnerships. Interns are encouraged to attend ETEC’s Nuclear Opportunities Workshop (NOW) in July as part of UCOR’s intern program. NOW is a nuclear industry conference focused on both fission and fusion subjects for professionals and suppliers. The conference provides an excellent opportunity for students to learn about industry developments, business opportunities, and advancements in research and technologies.
