With UCOR’s current waste disposal facility (EMWMF) nearing capacity, a new low-level contaminated waste disposal facility is being constructed—the Environmental Management Disposal Facility (EMDF). An essential step to complete design and prepare for construction is groundwater monitoring for a period of two wet seasons. With the first season being completed last spring, the second wet season measurements will begin in December 2025. UCOR teams will capture water levels and pressure at all 29 wells located on the grounds that will be incorporated into the final design.
