Tenn. Gov. Bill Lee and regional leaders celebrated the opening of Orano USA’s new office in Oak Ridge on Thursday. This is the next stage of the company’s commitment to build a state-of-the-art uranium enrichment facility that is expected to create 400 new jobs in the Oak Ridge Corridor.
The event was part of Tennessee Valley Corridor’s 30th Annual “National Summit,” held May 29-30 in Oak Ridge.
At the event, Orano USA CEO Jean-Luc Palayer recognized how OREM and UCOR’s cleanup successes and advocacy were instrumental in helping Tennessee land Orano’s projected $6 billion investment, the largest economic development announcement in the state’s history. Joining the governor at the Orano event were U.S. Sen. Marsha Blackburn, U.S. Rep. Chuck Fleischmann, and other officials.
