In coordination with National Fire Prevention Month, the FY 2027 evacuation drill will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 14. The UCOR workforce and visitors present at 90 Union Valley Road, 100 Union Valley Road, 105 Mitchell Road, 701 Scarboro Road, EMWMF, White Wing Scrap Yard, K-1036, and K-1310 LM & RU will be expected to participate in the drill. This drill does not include personnel working in the field or at ORNL, Y-12, or 1916-T2/T3.
The drill will be initiated at 2:30 p.m. by a mass notification system and two-way radio message. When the message is received or heard, personnel should immediately evacuate the building and proceed to the Assembly Point as identified by the posted facility Emergency Action Plan.
Personnel should wear appropriate clothing on the day of the exercise, walk at a safe pace, and be alert for tripping hazards and uneven walking surfaces. Motorists entering the parking lots should use extreme caution.
UCOR will also conduct a quarterly Continuity of Operations (COOP) accountability exercise on Oct. 14 beginning at 11 a.m. The accountability exercise is designed to demonstrate UCOR’s ability to account for all UCOR and staff augmentation personnel. The exercise is initiated by notification to management. Each functional organization may conduct accountability using established point of contacts or as it sees fit as long as UCOR can account for all members of the workforce in a short period of time.
All employees, including staff augmentation subcontractors, must be accounted for. Managers must account for all their personnel no matter their work status.
