UCOR’s Critical Projects team recently hosted a luncheon to celebrate several organizational milestones and accomplishments. These achievements include:
- Exceeding 500,000 safe work hours by subcontractors
- Starting groundwater monitoring in preparation for the Environmental Management Disposal Facility in December 2024 as well as Critical Decision 4 approval for construction of the groundwater monitoring
- Accomplishments at the Outfall 200 Mercury Treatment Facility
- Completing the Alpha-2 Utility Reroutes that enabled the start of Alpha-2 demolition
In attendance were senior Amentum, UCOR, and DOE OREM leadership, including Mark Whitney (President, Amentum Energy & Environment), Jim Blankenhorn (GM of North America, Amentum Energy & Environment and UCOR Chairman of the Board), Ken Rueter (UCOR President & CEO), and Erik Olds (DOE OREM Manager). The celebration was also attended by about 100 Critical Projects team members, support staff, and subcontractors.
