Crews at ETTP Heritage Center have initiated dewatering and grouting of electrical ductbank vaults surrounding the K-25 footprint. The ductbank contained cables to supply power to K-25 and nearby facilities from the K-704 Switchhouse. Vaults with manhole access were constructed along each duct to access the electrical cables, with most of the cables removed from the vaults in the late 1970s. Once vaults are dewatered, the project will fill them with a concrete mixture. The team anticipates that dewatering and grouting of the southeast area will be complete this month.
