UCOR’s Thrive Program is making healthy, convenient meals more accessible across the Oak Ridge Reservation (ORR) through a new partnership with Clean Eatz and the installation of two on‑site pickup refrigerators.
Over the summer, UCOR surveyed employees about their interest in Clean Eatz meal services. After strong support, UCOR Thrive (UCOR’s health, wellness, and mental health programs), and Clean Eatz collaborated to develop a delivery method that meets safety and security requirements while giving employees access to fresh, nutritious meals without the need for off‑site trips or meal prep.
Because Clean Eatz cannot enter secured facilities, UCOR teams, including Health Services, Elevate, Facility Management, Security, Public Affairs, ORNL personnel, Housekeeping, senior leadership, and more worked together to identify and prepare General Access areas that allow safe delivery.
This effort included relocating a refrigerator from Y‑12 to the craft break room in ORNL’s Building 3037 and installing a new two‑door steel refrigerator at 100 Union Valley. These locations now provide convenient pickup points for personnel across the reservation.
To support crews working farther from these hubs, UCOR Health Services has also established a TWPC and Heritage Center point of contact to receive and distribute meals.
With key refrigerators installed and logistics in place, UCOR and Clean Eatz are preparing to officially launch the service. Additional pickup sites will include ORNL Buildings 7603, 7140, 7995, 5700, 2040, 8600, and 100 U.V. More information on ordering and accessing meals will be shared soon.
