If you have signed up for classroom training, attending when scheduled is important. The Training & Development Program will be limiting extensions for people who have previously signed up for classroom training. They will only grant extensions for certain situations, such as illness, injury, other emergency circumstances, and interference with projects.
UCOR has a workforce of over 2,000, with new hires brought in weekly. Training Points of Contact and supervisors submit the training requirements our workforce needs. Then Training personnel create classes to accommodate everyone who needs the specific training. Instructors and training staff then prepare for the specific number of participants scheduled for the training.
When individuals miss their training appointments, it leaves training spots open that could have been used by other people. That’s why letting training personnel know as soon as possible when you can’t make a training assignment is important. They can schedule you for another session to ensure you meet your requirements.
In some circumstances, the Training & Development Program can take walk-ins on a limited basis. If you would like to check the possibility of a walk-in for classroom training, please call the Training office and they can let you know if spots are available.
Walk-ins are not meant to fulfill an immediate or deficient training requirement to do mission-critical work. They are meant to be opportunity to get training done in advance.
The Training & Development Program is here for you. For emergency circumstances, let Training know and they will accommodate you. For regular practice, adherence to scheduled training is necessary to allow our training staff to keep our workforce mission ready.
