UCOR crews have shipped two of five hot cells in ORNL Building 3038, the former Isotope Development Laboratory, to TRU Waste Operations for storage until they can be sent to the Transuranic Waste Processing Center for future processing. The equipment removal phase of Building 3038 deactivation is nearing completion. Crews have begun removing the contaminated ceiling and process lines. Upcoming tasks include shipping the three remaining hot cells and removing a glovebox out of the east end of the facility.
