Burnout is more than simply feeling tired. It’s a state of deep emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion that comes from ongoing stress. This can affect your work performance and even your personal life. When you’re burned out, you might feel drained, disconnected, and overwhelmed.
How do you know if you are experiencing burnout? Look for these common signs:
- Constant exhaustion: You might wake up tired, even after a full night’s sleep. You feel drained and lack energy.
- Detachment and negativity: You might feel cynical about your job, lose motivation, or feel detached from your daily tasks. Things you once enjoyed might now feel pointless or overwhelming.
- Physical symptoms: Burnout can show up as headaches, stomach issues, changes in sleep or appetite, or getting sick more often.
- Difficulty concentrating: You might struggle to focus, make more mistakes, and find it hard to complete tasks.
Ignoring these signs can lead to bigger problems for your mental and physical health.
