Some employees may recently have received—or will soon receive—a Cologuard® colorectal cancer screening kit in the mail from BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee (BCBST). Fully insured group members were automatically included in this preventive health initiative. While we believe this is a highly beneficial program to help catch health issues early, we want to ensure you are fully informed about this mailing.
Who is receiving a kit?
This outreach is for members who are age 45 or older, are due for a colorectal cancer screening, have never had a colonoscopy, and are at average risk.
Key details
- No cost: There is no cost or copay to you for this test—it is fully covered as a preventive benefit of your health plan.
- Participation is voluntary: If you want to participate, follow the simple instructions included in the kit to return your sample. If you do not wish to participate, you can simply discard the kit. No further action is required.
- Notification: You may have also received a text message from RELAY on behalf of BCBST alerting you to this program.
