It’s been a long, hot summer for the team at our Y-12 Alpha-2 project, working tropical and night shifts to get the job done. But it sure is paying off. They have reached a significant milestone, getting the west side of the massive building as well as the carpenter shop 9732-2 condemned. Congratulations, team!!
They are continuing to work to get the rest of the building ready for demo, pouring a cement mixture throughout the basement and finishing up other prep activities. One of those activities is plugging storm drains and sewers around the 324,448-square-foot building. Demolition of the carpenter shop is slated to begin in early September.
