UCOR scores third ‘Top Workplace’ regional designation
Oak Ridge, Tenn., July 25, 2024 – The workforce at United Cleanup Oak Ridge (UCOR) continues to rank its employer as a Top Workplace. The company received its third Top Workplaces designation by the Knoxville News Sentinel’s this week. The recognition is based on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by Energage LLC, an employee engagement technology firm.
Earlier this year, UCOR was named a Top Workplace in the United States by USA Today. The company also received a national Culture Excellence Award for our compensation and benefits program. Both awards were also determined by employee feedback through the survey.
Energage’s confidential, research-backed engagement survey is driven by the industry’s most robust benchmarks built on data from millions of employees at tens of thousands of organizations over the past 18 years.
“Having our employees again tell us we are a Top Workplace is important,” said UCOR Administrative Services Manager Charlie Malarkey. “We use what they tell us through the survey to see how we can make our workplace stronger. We also take seriously the things that workers identify that we can improve on.”
More than half of UCOR’s 2,200+ workforce responded to the survey and shared valuable feedback on the strengths of the company. Highlights from workforce feedback included that UCOR operates by strong values and that employees feel like their jobs make them part of something meaningful.
UCOR is the DOE Oak Ridge Office of Environmental Management’s lead environmental cleanup contractor. The company’s workforce is dedicated to safely reducing environmental risk on the Oak Ridge Reservation while helping DOE’s Office of Science and the National Nuclear Security Administration continue their important missions.
