UCOR recognizes outstanding small business partners
Oak Ridge, Tenn., July 23, 2024 – United Cleanup Oak Ridge (UCOR) has recognized six small business partners for their contributions to the company’s environmental cleanup at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge Reservation.
At its annual small business awards breakfast, UCOR honored CTI & Associates; Aleut Demolition Services; Impres Technology Solutions; Barr Technical Services; Drummond Carpenter; and Premier Contracting and Technical Services. UCOR recognized each award recipient as a valued partner for outstanding customer service and exceptional responsiveness.
UCOR President and CEO Ken Rueter told attendees that what they do makes a difference to UCOR’s mission. “Everyone in this room has demonstrated time and time again your commitment to safety and excellence in our partnership” Rueter said.
UCOR continues to exceed its 45% small business subcontracting goals set by the Department of Energy (DOE). Since May 2022, UCOR has subcontracted over $659M with almost 85% of our subcontracts going to small businesses.
Carol Jennings, Small Business Program Manager for DOE’s Oak Ridge Office of Environmental Management, noted that UCOR continues to invest in small business relationships for future success.
“Small businesses are often the unsung heroes behind our progress. You provide important services that help us complete projects on schedule and on budget,” Jennings said. “You are co-collaborators and share ownership in our successes.
Impres Technology was this year’s winner in the HubZone small business category. UCOR Systems Administrator Judson Hall said it was the company’s customer service that set them apart: “They are the top tier, cream of the crop,” Hall said. “They are on the spot and can handle any issue and immediately resolve it.”
