When weather becomes worrisome, especially during harsh storms, the workforce must find proper storm shelters. However, sometimes this can be a difficult task.
Luckily, the ORRL LSIT, SMASH, recommended storm shelters at ORRL. This feedback led to immediate action—an engineering evaluation was conducted to find the best locations to obtain shelter.
As a result, two tornado-lockdown shelters were obtained for future tornado risks.
Safety is UCOR’s number one priority. Without it, we can’t do the work that we do. SMASH’s dedication to providing feedback, and our workforce’s dedication to taking action, proves that safety is foundational to our mission on the ORR.
