OAK RIDGE, Tenn., February 2, 2016 – Fran Williams has been selected as the Chief Operating Officer for URS|CH2M Oak Ridge LLC (UCOR). She will fill the position vacated last month by Matt Marston, who left to accept a senior management position within AECOM, one of UCOR’s parent companies.
Williams is returning to UCOR, where she previously served as Manager of Environment, Safety, Health and Quality Assurance (ESH&QA). She retired in 2015 after overseeing UCOR’s successful designation as a Star site in the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Voluntary Protection Program. Star status recognizes the safest operating sites in the nation. She also helped set the company on a course to achieve more than five million work hours without a lost-time accident.
“I am pleased to welcome Fran back to the UCOR team,” Ken Rueter, UCOR President and Project Manager, said. “Her skills and expertise are ideally suited to the needs of this project as we continue to clean up the East Tennessee Technology Park and support DOE in transforming the site into a private sector industrial park.”
Williams brings more than 38 years of experience in various assignments of increasing responsibility at several nuclear facilities in the United States and the United Kingdom.
She was formerly Executive Director of ESH&QA at the Sellafield site in the United Kingdom and served as Vice President of Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Quality with URS Global Management and Operations Services before joining UCOR initially.
UCOR is the Department of Energy’s Environmental Management contractor for East Tennessee Technology Park (ETTP) and other DOE Oak Ridge Reservation sites in Tennessee.
