One of the most common causes of falls is inappropritate footwear. At UCOR, certain types of footwear are prohibited because they pose safety risks. The prohibited footwear includes shoes:
- without back straps or support in the back, such as flip flops
- with heels more than 2 inches
- with platforms more than 1 inch
- without firm soles (such as moccasins)
- without a stable platform (rocking-type shoes
In the field, workers may have additional requirements, such as steel or composite-toed shoes.
